Money and itinerary woes / Dilemas de dinero e itinerario

I've been checking my finances and they dont look too hot at the moment, so instead of january I might end up leaving in february or early march at the latest. The real issue is that I cannot postpone the trip that much as Joko is coming back from Melbourne in june and of course I want to go whilst he is there, and secondly that I dont want to travel through OZ and New Zealand in the middle of the winter! I do have an ace up my sleeve tho, that involves the Spanish social security and... ahem... you can figure out the rest.

The other thing is that I would like to change the itinerary, but I'm not sure if its allowed to swap countries in your round-the-world route... as for me it would be best to do LA-Australia-Fiji-New Zealand-Chile-Argentina. There is only one thing I need to change, basically swapping Fiji for Australia in the order.

This is because I wanna be in Australia as soon as possible to catch the summer there, and be in Fiji and the rest of the Pacific Islands (Samoa, Cook Islands, French Polynesia, etc) during the winter. Why? Well winter is the best season to be in the Islands because its around 25ish degrees and its the dry season. The summer is their monsoon season so its not very good!

So the absolute best thing to do -if my finances allow it- would be:

15 of February *London -> Los Angeles*
15 to 30 February: USA (I'd do LA, San Francisco and Tijuana)

1 of March *Los Angeles -> Melbourne*
March/April/May: Australia (I would catch the last part of the summer and a bit of autumn, but it'd be allright temperature wise as I will travel through the coast for 3 months)

1 of June * Melbourne -> Fiji*
June/July/August: Fiji + South Pacific Islands (as many of the other Pacific islands as I can afford... like I said before, perfect time to go.. loads of sun, warm weather and sandy beaches!)

1 of September *Fiji -> Auckland*
September/October/November: Nueva Zelanda (I would get the spring and beggining of the summer... awesome time to visit Kiwi land)

1 of December *Fiji - > Santiago de Chile*
Not sure how long I will be able to stay in Chile. I'd love to visit around but by then I will be absolutely skint.

?? December *Santiago de Chile -> Buenos Aires*
Summer in Rosario! And with no money! But hey, what are friends for... :P

So that would be the ideal scenario... now lets see if I can get my shit together.

He estado viendo mis finanzas y no se ven muy bien, asi que en vez de enero probablemente salga en febrero (o principios de marzo como muy tarde). El problema es que no puedo posponer el viaje demasiado porque Joaquin se vuelve de Melbourne en Junio y por supuesto quiero visitar cuando todavia este el alla, y lo segundo es que no quiero viajar por Australia y Nueva Zelanda en el medio del invierno! Tengo un as en la manga sin embargo, que involucra a la seguridad social Española y... ajem... se pueden imaginar el resto.

La otra cosa importante es que me gustaria cambiar el itinerario, aunque no estoy seguro si se puede cambiar el orden en que viajas a cada pais en un billete round-the-world... para mi lo mejor seria hacer Los Angeles-Australia-Fiji-Nueva Zelanda-Chile-Argentina. Hay una sola cosa que debo cambiar, y seria el orden de viaje entre Fiji y Australia.

Esto es dado que quiero estar en Australia lo antes posible para agarrar el fin del verano alli, y estar en Fiji y el resto de las islas del Pacifico Sur (Samoa, las islas Cook, la Polinesia Francesa, etc) durante los meses de invierno (junio, julio y agosto), porque es la mejor epoca ya que hacen 25+ grados de temperatura con clima seco. En esa zona el verano no es bueno para ir porque es epoca de monsones y llueve todo el tiempo.

Asi que lo mejor para mi, si mis finanzas lo permiten, seria:

15 de Febrero *Londres -> Los Angeles*
15 a 30 de Febrero: Estados Unidos (Haria Los Angeles, San Francisco y Tijuana... no puedo ir por ahi sin visitar Tijuana!)

1 de Marzo *Los Angeles -> Melbourne*
Marzo/Abril/Mayo: Australia (Parte del verano y del otoño, que esta muy bien en esa zona porque viajaria por toda la costa Australiana por 3 meses)

1 de Junio * Melbourne -> Fiji*
Junio/Julio/Agosto: Fiji + Islas del Pacifico Sur (todas las islas del Pacifico Sur que pueda... como dije antes los meses perfectos para ir... sol, tiempo calido y playas blancas!)

1 de Setiembre *Fiji -> Auckland*
Setiembre/Octubre/Noviembre: Nueva Zelanda (Agarraria la primavera y principio de verano, perfecto!)

1 de Diciembre *Fiji - > Santiago de Chile*
No se cuanto tiempo me quedo en Chile... me gustaria viajar por el pais weon pero a esa altura voy a ser mas pobre que Diogenes...

El verano en Rosario! Y sin dinero! Pero para que tengo amigos... :P

Asi que ese es el escenario ideal... ahora veremos si me pongo las pilas.
